Welcome

As mothers, we love fiercely.  Hence the name, The Fierce-Loving Mama!  God designed us as mothers to love, nurture, protect, and guide.  It's an important calling and one that we don't take lightly.  It is a difficult job, which is why we need a Savior to help us each step of the way!  As our children grow and eventually leave, this can be a trying time.  The family we have worked so hard to make is changing and it can leave our hearts hurting, and hurting badly.  This page is about that transition and how we can work through it with a heaping helpful of grace and patience for ourselves, and leaning on Jesus to get us through.  Let's trudge together on this walk of change and new beginnings, and how we can actually thrive on this journey.

About

Navigating my new role as mother

My story is one of discovering my new role as a mother of an adult child. I will always be their mom, but it just looks different these days. I'm helping them to listen to God's voice now more than my own. It's a struggle, but it's also beautiful.

Our Life So Far

Mama of 2 wonderful kids

When we started this blog in the summer of 2014, it was used to help me grow a gift in my own heart. Every day I felt God was doing something bigger in me and I wanted to share that with the world. As time went on this blog became a place to help others begin their own journey. I watched as my stories, thoughts, and encouragement unlocked the calling in others. God moved majorly in my life and opened doors for coaching, teaching, and encouraging so many people who are still using my resources today.

Since the beginning of 2022, we have been on a new adventure. God opened the door for us to do a monthly class filled with practical tools to help people experience the mercies of God. This blog is a tremendous blessing and I am so blessed to be doing this. I am excited to keep encouraging, coaching, and teaching others and I am so excited to continue cultivating a strong community every new day.

In September of 2023, our oldest child, Nick, left home for the mission field. He has traveled to many different countries serving, feeding, educating, and telling people about the Good News of Jesus Christ. He's going through a nine-month program called Adventures in Missions. He is currently still on the field and when he comes home, that will be another transition to tackle. It's been difficult letting him go, which is why I wanted to start this blog, in hopes of helping other mothers to let go and to glorify God as He has sustained me throughout these many months.

We also have a teenage daughter, Grace, who has been on this adventure with us, as she has had to release her brother, also. We know all too well that she'll be next to fly and we will have to endure the goodbye again. However, this blog is a tremendous blessing and I know it will help when it does come time for Grace to leave the nest. I am excited to keep encouraging, coaching, teaching others, and cultivating a strong community of fierce-loving mamas in a similar season of life.

We must be intentional with our spouses

Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
